The Green Procurement made by the Enterprises and Public

The Promotion of Green Procurement made by the Enterprise and Public
While there is a good achievement of government-based green procurement, the EPA promoted “Public Green Consumption and Green Procurement Promotion” in 2007. The EPA wishes to introduce green
procurement to the business sectors (especially the retailers), and these sectors can procure the green
products and promote green products to the general consumers.
I. The result of making the promotion of green procurement made by the enterprise and public in the last half year of 2006:
  • Totally there are 203 enterprises and groups participated.
  • Total green procurement amount is approximately 0.1 billions dollars.
  • The categories: Office stationery and paper products and cleansers for office equipments.
II. Establish the environmental preferable products selling information
  • The EPA notified manufacturers to offer the green product information and the
    information will be posted on the green mark labeling information web site.
  • Establish and publicized the environmental preferable products selling information.
III. Promote green stores and Green Selling Award
  1. The environmental protection bureau will guide the merchandise retailer, hypermarket,
    supermarket、franchised stores, and convenience stores to install green stores, display the green
    products, and attach green store label to make public easily to recognize and purchase the product.
  2. Hold Green Selling Award, and encourage set-up of the green stores.
  3. Select excellent green store and its selling mode; make instruction for other enterprises as
    reference.
  4. Green Selling Award Evaluation Criteria
    (1) Clearly promote green selling and employee education.
    (2) The product manufacturing has set the environmental demand as consideration.
    (3) Clearly separate and label green products, and reinforcing selling of the green product.
    (4) Reinforcing the propagation of green selling in the action and documentation.            
    (5) Record green selling mechanism and green selling propagation results.
    (6) Proportionate the green selling total amount and proportion.
IV. Holding green consumption propagation on June 5, 2007, the World Environment Day
  • Reinforcing on education for public to know and recognize the green mark label.
  • Encouraging make preferential purchasing of green mark labeled, or Type II, Type III
    products.
  • During June 2 to June 10, 2007 (June 5 is the World Environment Day), preferable
    price of purchasing green product promotion session was held.
  • “Collect Labels and Exchange for Gift”: Citizens collect 2 empty bottles or boxes
    printed with green mark label and exchange one gift in the designated location.
V.、July 26 to July29, 2007 Green Life Exhibition
  1. Display green product and promote green consumption to enlarge the chance of selling green product in order for government and public to participate in green procurement.
  2. Reinforcing the education for public on environmental protection and heath care;
    promote green house gas reduction, energy saving and increase resource recycling,
    and green consumption.
  3. Promote green mark labeled products and carbon oxide reduction, resource recycling,
    green consumption.
  4. Participants: Department of Health (Executive Yuan), Construction and Planning Agency (Ministry of the Interior), CPC Corporation, Taiwan, Taiwan Sugar Corporation, Taiwan
    High Speed Rail, and other agencies within the Taiwan EPA. Totally 35 manufacturers
    participated. Far East University and NTUST Business Incubation Center.
